A family from Chesham is desperately calling on locals to assist in the search for their missing dog Phoebe.
Phoebe, the size of a small retriever with reddish brown fur, ran away on Wednesday, January 10, at around 12.30pm.
Numerous confirmed sightings on the day put her in the vicinity of Lye Green in the afternoon, before potential sightings later pointed to her moving back towards home.
Despite extensive search efforts and the enlistment of specialist service Dog Lost, Phoebe has not been found.
A critical lead came on January 11 at around 4pm when Phoebe was allegedly spotted near the train line between Wendover and Stoke Mandeville, as confirmed by a witness who recognised her from her photographs and collar description.
However, following this sighting, no further reports of her have surfaced.
This development has now led to a wider call to anyone residing in these specific areas to keep their eyes peeled for Phoebe.
The family is asking residents to review any footage from personal security devices such as Ring doorbells or CCTVs which could potentially aid in locating Phoebe.
They are also encouraging greater network sharing of her missing status.
In a heartfelt plea, the Zoe Ruff said: "Please, if possible, can you print the poster and share with as many people as you can so we can hopefully get her home safe and sound."
Mentioning their desperate situation, they expressed gratitude for the help received so far and implored the public to "please keep sharing and sharing and further and further and call us with any sightings."
Though the last sighting of Phoebe was in Stoke Mandeville near Chiltern View Nursery, they believe she may have returned closer to their residence near Bois Moor Road in Chesham because of the lapse in time.
Phoebe is microchipped, meaning her family will be alerted if she's taken to a vet.
However, given her nervous and fearful nature, the family requests that anyone who spots her avoid attempting to catch her and instead contact them with any pertinent information.
