New axe throwing bar has opened in Milton Keynes

Formula Fast in Bond Avenue, Bletchley, has introduced a new axe throwing experience called ‘Axecelerate’, that blends the thrill of real axe throwing with the excitement of interactive games and automated scoring.

Visitors to Formula Fast can throw real axes and target blocks are enhanced with projected targets and games.

The automated scoring, powered by laser detection, adds a unique twist to an activity that has already been a massive hit across the US and Europe – but is completely new to Milton Keynes.

Tom Murray, Axe Throwing Manager, said: “Axecelerate isn’t just about throwing axes at a target.

"It's an immersive, fun experience where technology meets skill. Multiple interactive challenges are available, and of course, gives you a great chance to safely blow-off steam in the process.

“It’s an activity that’s totally beginner friendly as well as providing a challenge for the more competitive.

"Brute strength is not required, and we guarantee once you’ve got the knack, the satisfaction of your axe hitting the bullseye is unbeatable.”

A safety briefing and training is included in every session before players get stuck in.

Axecelerate offers private hire for groups of six players or more, which includes three dedicated lanes and a lounge overlooking the circuit.

Smaller groups of up to five players can experience a lane to themselves, and discounts are available to groups who also book go karting or escape rooms during their visit.

As always, comfortable clothing is advised and closed-toed shoes are required. The current minimum age for axe throwing is 15-years-old.

Formula Fast also recently launched Cipher Escape, with several World War II themed escape rooms, which has seen rave reviews.

Their popular go karting circuit celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, and is about to host the 10th edition of the annual British Rental Kart Championship (qualifier to the Kart World Championship) in January 2024.
