A Bucks village pub has been allowed to stay open until 2am despite complaints of “antisocial behaviour” by neighbours.
Greene King pub The Red Lion, at 41 The Green in Wooburn Green, has had a variation of its premises licence approved by Buckinghamshire Council.
The watering hole will now be able to serve “late night refreshment” on New Year’s Eve until 2am on New Year’s Day.
Permitted retail sales of alcohol will be from 10am to 11pm, Monday to Thursday; 10am to 1pm, Friday to Saturday; and 11am to 11pm on Sunday.

Late night refreshment will be allowed at the pub on St George’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, Christmas Eve and other public holidays until midnight when they fall Sunday to Thursday and until 2am when they fall on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, recorded music will be allowed to be played indoors from 10am to 1pm between Friday and Saturday, while live music will be allowed indoors between Monday and Saturday from 10am to 11pm.
The approved variation of the premises licence is subject to several conditions, including that staff will not hold drinking games and must provide free drinking water on request.
Wooburn resident William Dempster told a licensing committee last week that there was “regular antisocial behaviour” at the Red Lion, while another neighbour, William Morgan complained of “broken bottles” and noise in the “quiet village”.
