Patisserie Valerie has denied rumours that staff were not paid following the closure of 11 shops.
The cake shop and cafe closed its only Buckinghamshire site in the Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe, on January 2.
Following the closure of 11 shops across the country, a former staff member alleged that all the affected employees were called into a meeting via video link where the immediate closure was announced.
The former employee, who did not work at the High Wycombe branch and asked to remain anonymous, claimed Patisserie Valerie told them they would not get paid for any shifts they worked between December 3 and January 2.

A spokesperson for Patisserie Valerie said: “There is a process by which all employees will be paid and we are currently in communication with them to ensure they are aware of this.”
Some critics of the cake shop said they were not surprised to see it close for good, while fans said they were sad to see it go.
