A Bucks resident has slammed Buckinghamshire Council over a roundabout that has been “flooded for weeks”.
Gerrards Cross resident Guy Emerson hit out at the council after 8-10 inches of flooding on the A413 between Amersham and Denham last week caused by heavy rain from Storm Henk.
He said: “At Kingsway Roundabout there were two cars abandoned on the verge, one has had an accident seemingly just past the flooded area, and the other may have been a flooded engine, I could not see.
“I have to ask at what point does Transport for Buckinghamshire and Bucks Council culpability kick in as the Kingsway Roundabout has been flooded for several weeks and has no warning signs.

“Surely it is only a matter of time before a serious accident they, and if they cannot fix the flooding, there should at least be warning signs in place to warn those not aware of the impending danger.”
The local resident branded conditions on the A413 “exceedingly dangerous” and said “flooding was worse than normal and located in the usual locations”.
The A413 and Kingsway Roundabout – which was built over the River Misbourne – has previously been the subject of flooding complaints on several occasions.
Mr Emerson said: “Travelling at 40 or 50 mph in the pitch dark with no warning signs and hitting standing water can only lead to more accidents. Thankfully most people know where the worst areas are as they are always flooded.”
The resident reported the flooding on the council’s Fix My Street service on several occasions.
The council’s cabinet member for transport Steven Broadbent reminded motorists to “always take extra care and drive responsibly” during periods of bad weather.
Addressing the flooding last week, he said: “Buckinghamshire Highways crews were working flat out to deal with flooding incidents and fallen trees along 2,220 miles of highway across the county, including putting out warning signs, delivering sandbags and fixing dangerous potholes caused by the rain.”
