Six men have been charged after ‘numerous’ thefts in rural areas across Thames Valley.
Following a police investigation, six men have been charged in connection with thefts of trailers and horseboxes in rural Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
The men were charged by postal requisition on Tuesday (January 2) after an investigation by the Thames Valley Police’s Rural Crime Taskforce.
Those charged with one count of conspiracy to steal were William Harris, aged 27, of Farnham Road, Petersfield, Hampshire, James Maughan, aged 62, of Middle Ground, Wheatley, Sami Nafa, aged 32, of Kew Bridge Road, Brentford, London, Ameet Saroay, aged 43, of Florence Road, Southall, London, William Stokes Jr, aged 25, of Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham, and William Stokes Sr, aged 48, of Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham.
Stokes Jr was also charged with three counts of receiving stolen goods.
Stokes Sr was also charged with two counts of receiving stolen goods.
Harris was also charged with one count of receiving stolen goods.
The charges relate to the theft of several trailers and horseboxes from addresses in Haddenham, Westbury, Turweston and Radnage in Buckinghamshire, North Newington, Oxfordshire, Oxhill, Warwickshire and Bardney in Lincolnshire between September 3, 2021 and November 25, 2021.
The defendants, except Maughan, were arrested between November 24, 2021 and December 22, 2021.
They are due to appear at Slough Magistrates’ Court on January 23.
