Numerous residents and partygoers have reacted to the news that Beaconsfield’s Revolution branch has officially shut down.
The nightclub, which was visited by tens of thousands of people every year, closed its doors for the final time on January 5 ‘due to young customers ‘feeling the effects of the cost of living crisis.’
The late-night venue is one of eight sites to close nationally, as sites in Derby, Reading, Liverpool and Wilmslow, as well as Revolución de Cubas in Sheffield and Southampton and the Playhouse in Newcastle-Under-Lyme have all closed.
Many people have taken to social media to send their well-wishes to the former Maxwell site after they confirmed the news on Friday.
Jason Macdonald said: “Wow...if those walls could talk. Some great memories.”
Kevin Sutton added: “That’s an absolute tragedy!
“Wasn’t expecting that, a big loss for Beaconsfield.”
Hannah Phillips said: “Sad, confused, it’s the end of an era.”
Wendy Quinton said: “Many fun nights!”
However, not everyone is upset following the nightclub’s closure as Harv Oz shared on Facebook: “The perfect way to start 2024 - good riddance to you.”
“Dreadful place, dreadful bar staff, dreadful bouncers and a stain on Beaconsfield.
“Happy to help you out of town if needed.”
In their statement published on January 5, Revs said: “We have loved shaking your cocktails and creating unmissable days and nights over the years, but as of today, [January 5], we will sadly be closing our doors in Revolution Beaconsfield.
"We wanted to thank you for joining the Revolution party over the years.
“Any guests with bookings will be contacted in due course – Thank you for your patience and understanding.
“Our team are ready and waiting to offer you your next Revolution experience in your nearest London-based bar, Revolution Leadenhall.
“Thank you and goodbye.”
The nightclub was closed for several months in 2013 after paying £250,000 for renovation works.
