Buckinghamshire is on high alert with 20 flood warnings following torrential rain from Storm Henk.
"Flooding is expected" within the vulnerable, low-lying areas close to rivers such as Ouzel, Great Ouse, and Thame, and Brook regions like Chalgrove, Colne, and Padbury.
Updates throughout today, January 5, point to heightened vigilance and proactive measures to safeguard residents and properties.
The associated potential risks also extend to areas surrounding the River Thames.
Bucks Council said: "There’s a new Yellow Weather Warning for rain in place, covering Buckinghamshire, until the early hours of tomorrow morning.
"With more heavy rain expected on already saturated ground, we’re advising residents to be prepared and to take a look at the advice from Met Office and Environment Agency.
"Steps are already being taken, as evidenced by the precautionary flood defences deployed at the Willows Estate in Aylesbury.
"Residents are advised to stay safe, lookout for their fellow neighbours and adhere to instructions on continuing normal life, especially concerning travel during severe weather conditions.
"The importance of awareness of personal and property safety measures cannot be overemphasised in these unpredictable conditions."
