The Next store in the Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe will not shut down, it has been confirmed.
Rumours spread on a local Facebook group suggested that the clothing and homeware shop in the Eden was closing its doors.
An anonymous post claiming Next would close gained a lot of attention in a group with more than 20,000 members.
However, Next has confirmed that it is not closing its Eden store, one of the retail giant’s two outlets in High Wycombe.

A spokesperson for Next said: “We can confirm that these rumours are false and that the Eden Centre store is not closing down.”
A member of Next customer services also said the shop was “not closing” and a spokesperson for Eden Shopping Centre said: “There are no plans for Next in the centre to close.”
Next has been a part of Eden Shopping Centre since the retail hub first opened its doors to the people of Wycombe in 2008.
A few hundred yards away, the Chilterns Shopping Centre also remains open, although most large shops there have now pulled out, including Wilko most recently.
Primark is the largest remaining brand in the Chilterns, which is subject to a planning application to build 303 flats on the site.
Rachael Matthews, Buckinghamshire Council's Deputy Cabinet Member for Town Centre Regeneration said: “Buckinghamshire Council is unable to comment on the actions of individual retailers but works with all businesses in the county to encourage growth and development of the local economy in our high streets and town centres.”
