Although the festive period is still in full swing, many have started to think about the best way to clear out their Christmas tree in the new year.
There are many ways to dispose of a Christmas tree after the celebrations are over.
Those with access to a car can drop off natural Christmas trees, wreaths and mistletoes at the nearest council Household Recycling Centre after removing all decorations, lights and any plastic.
Another good way for disposal without leaving the comfort of your home is to sign up for a paid collection organised by the Scouts, charities and town councils, often raising money for a good cause.
Some landscaping and garden traders might also offer Christmas tree collection and disposal.

If you don’t mind waiting a couple of weeks, Christmas trees can be disposed of in the green waste collection, which resumes on Monday, January 22.
Dumping a Christmas tree in a park or on the roadside is considered fly-tipping, which carries a penalty of up to £1,000.
Here are just some of the groups offering Christmas tree collections.
