A man thought to be fly-tipping was caught on camera throwing wooden sticks on the side of a road at 5am.
A mysterious figure caused confusion after he was seen throwing items into the woods in Buckinghamshire.
Buckinghamshire Council’s fly-tipping enforcement team released CCTV footage showing a man in a hi-viz jacket dumping something onto the side of the road on December 18 at about 5am.
On closer inspection the following day, the items were revealed to be a stack of wooden sticks.
The council commented the misunderstanding on social media, saying jokingly they thought the man was hoping to get the first ever £1,000 fixed penalty notice for fly-tipping only hours after the new higher fines came into force.
“But even we couldn’t make him pay £1,000 for chucking a dozen sticks,” they quipped.
We thought this guy was hoping to be the first £1,000 fixed penalty for #flytipping issued in Bucks (5 hrs, 4 minutes into the new rates)
