A father and daughter from Buckinghamshire are teaming up to climb Africa’s highest mountain to raise money for a homelessness charity.
Victoria Parker, 10, and her dad Nik are preparing to climb Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa this winter to raise money for the Wycombe Homeless Connection.
The father-daughter duo, who live in High Wycombe, will trek 4,167 metres to the mountain’s summit between February 13 and 15, right in the middle of the Saharan winter.
Nik said: “I see people who are homeless and who think they don’t have a home of their own, a door to knock on to find dignity and a safe place.
“Victoria and I are raising money for Wycombe Homeless Connection because they are a door that anyone who is homeless can knock on and find help and hope.”

He urged anyone who can to “give generously” to the charity, adding: “They help people across South Bucks who have already lost their homes to find food, clothing and emergency accommodation, and more people are coming to them for help every day.”
Heather Stanley, fundraising manager at Wycombe Homeless Connection, said: “We are so grateful to Victoria and Nik for taking on this epic challenge to help the people we serve.
“Please support them – they are aiming to raise a massive £5,000 which will help us to reach those who are sleeping on the street this winter.”
