A notorious prisoner in Buckinghamshire who has spent most of his life in jail has sent his ex-wife a luxury Christmas hamper and reportedly wants to rekindle the relationship if he is released.
Charles Bronson, 70, who has been dubbed Britain's most notorious prisoner and was the subject of a biopic starring Tom Hardy in 2008, is hoping to reunite with his ex-wife if he is granted parole in 2025.
Bronson, who is currently imprisoned inside HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes and was denied parole in March 2023, has sent his ex-wife Irene Dunroe a luxury Christmas hamper of wine, cheese and chocolate in the hopes of winning her back.
Irene, 71, divorced Bronson in 1976 while he was serving his first prison sentence for armed robbery and shares her son Mick with the 70-year-old convict. She said the hamper was delivered to her house last week, adding that she was planning to visit her ex-husband early in the new year.

"(The hamper) had a lovely bottle of red wine, two great big wheels of cheese, chocolate, peanuts, crisps, biscuits, some lovely jams and marmalades and some pickles.
"He's very generous and he always wants to know if I need anything. He just wants to make me happy."
Irene visited Bronson for the first time in almost five decades in August of this year after the pair exchanged a series of phone calls and letters.
After their divorce, Irene went on to remarry once and Bronson twice. The latter wasn't released from jail until 1987 after bad behaviour behind bars and then spent just 69 days as a free man before being arrested again for robbing a jewellery shop.
He was sentenced to another seven years and, bar a brief spell of freedom in 1992, has been in prison ever since.
