A Starbucks in Marlow faces major changes after a new application for planning permission has been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council.

The existing flat roof is leaking, according to planning documents for the coffee shop at Number 60 on the High Street.

The proposals say the roof needs to be removed and replaced with improved insulation and flat roof coverings.

After the existing roof and decking are stripped off, repairs will be carried out on the structure below, while existing roof lights and fans will be replaced with new ones.

Meanwhile one of the walls will be raised by a foot, flat roof drainage will be improved and repointing repairs to the flank wall and parapet will be carried out “where needed”.

The application says: “The original section fronting Marlow High Street dates from the 19th century and although unlisted, contributes to the Conservation area.”

The rear section of the property is single storey and provides access to an upper floor flat via a metal staircase.

It also gives access to the rear flat roof area, which covers the rear section of the building, which houses a stock room, office, staff and customer toilets and a cold room.
