A SHOPLIFTER who stole three bags worth of Christmas food from Waitrose dumped his shopping when he saw police.
A vigilant neighbourhood police officer spotted a man with three large bags on Warwick Road, Beaconsfield.
On seeing the marked police vehicle, the man deserted the bags into a hedge in Ledborough Lane and made his escape and fled the scene.
Police officers tried to find the man but he wasn't found.
The shopping bags worth £652 contained a tube of Pringles and box of Maltesers.
Waitrose management expressed appreciation for the return of goods, reinforcing their active stand against shoplifting.
