A pizza chef forced to shut his van has found a new home serving pizza out of a pub kitchen.
The owner of Hungry Yasmine pizza van Ahmed Morjane was left disappointed after he had to shut the popular van in May after the council refused his permit.
The 33-year-old Italian pizza chef said his dream had always been to own his own business.
“Hungry Yasmine is named after my daughter,” the proud dad of three-year-old Yasmine revealed.
When The Griffin re-opened in Chesham, Ahmed jumped to the opportunity to launch Hungry Yasmine again at the pub.
Ahmed said: “I stopped doing the pizza in the van, I thought the pub would be a bit better.
"I asked all the pub owners if they can let me use their kitchen and Jim [Dyer] at The George and Dragon said he’s opening another pub.
“When Jim offered me this opportunity I just took the chance and tried again."
After the first week at The Griffin, Ahmed said he is “hopeful” the venture will work out, although it is “quiet” at the moment.

“But I will start with Deliveroo soon. The kitchen has got everything, I can do pasta also and more courses. It’s a good opportunity,” he said.
He will also serve pasta and specials alongside pizzas, including a special pasta dish with truffles he learned to make in Umbre, Italy.
“I’ll make the carbonara like in Italy. I’ve had good reviews from customers,” he said.
When asked about his thoughts on Domino’s Pizza opening in Chesham recently, he welcomed the multinational chain into town.
“As many places as possible is better for the community, the quality will rise up. I don’t really mind, mine is the best,” he quipped.
He continued: “They do American pizza, I do Italian, it’s very different. For example I use double fermented dough.”
Hungry Yasmine will serve food at The Griffin Tuesdays until Saturdays.
The kitchen is opening from 5pm until 10pm Tuesday to Thursday and 5pm until 11pm Friday and Saturday.
For now, the busy dad will work in the kitchen by himself while also working in his other job as a chef at Darvills family bakery.
