Members of the public helped police round up two loose horses after they were spotted on a road in Buckinghamshire.
Thames Valley Police received reports of two loose horses sighted near Wood Lane in Iver on Sunday, December 17.
A spokesperson for the force praised the "excellent" initiative of members of the public who transported the horses to a safe and secure area before the officers' arrival.
While the Local Neighbourhood Policing Team could not identify the horses' owner, they did manage to return the animals to the field they had escaped from and secure the exit point.
The force is still looking to identify and speak with the owner in question, and the spokesperson stressed the "danger" the escape had presented to the horses and nearby road users.
