A popular food and wellness brand has bought a factory in Buckinghamshire, saving 27 jobs after the site's previous owner entered administration.
Deliciously Ella, a food and wellness platform based in London that has been at the forefront of the rise in popularity of veganism and plant-based eating in recent years, has purchased the former Green Way Foods factory in Milton Keynes, a company that was one of the brand's central suppliers before it filed for administration earlier this month.
Deliciously Ella CEO Matthew Mills told The Grocer that the factory acquisition marked "by far the largest investment" the brand, which was founded back in 2016, has made thus far.
He said the purchase was one of several large innovation projects currently underway at the company, with the increased production space coming ahead of the launch of a new product range, expected to hit shelves in spring 2024.

The acquisition of the former Green Way Foods factory will involve saving 27 jobs put temporarily at risk following the administration filing.
Mills said: “It was one of the most humbling moments of my life when we told the almost 30 people at the factory that they were going to be retaining their jobs a month before Christmas.
“It’s an incredibly proud moment to welcome all these amazing people into our team.”
