A personal trainer based in High Wycombe has finished second in a national award.
Hilary Spearing, who runs the Functional Fitness Studio on Cryers Hill, was recognised by the National Fitness Awards where she was nominated in the ‘functional training gym of the year’ category.
And despite having a huge online following, the PT narrowly lost out to first place at the Leicester-based award ceremony at the end of November.

The PT’s business caters to those who are not able-bodied and primarily helps individuals who are battling degenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, multiple sclerosis and arthritis.
Hilary said: “So proud to be a runner up in my category at the National Fitness Awards and [hopefully I’m] going to win the category next year.”
She then added: “Having felt I let myself down on Friday [November 24], as I don’t like losing, I was chuffed to receive this message to say I was one of two runners up in my category: ‘Hi Hilary, please don’t be disappointed as you were one of the two runners up in what I know was an incredibly strong category and just to be shortlisted is a massive achievement in itself.’

“Onwards and upwards and on to next years.”
The business was founded in November 2019, and currently helps many people across the South Buckinghamshire area, along with clients in Berkshire.
The overall winner of the Hilary’s category was the Scottish gym, Synergy Group Fitness.
SFG boast to outlets in Livingston and Edinburgh respectively.
