A High Wycombe man has been sentenced for making indecent images of a child and possession of extreme pornography.
Derick Baker, 70, of Park Parade Centre, Hazlemere, received a six-month suspended sentence at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work for his crimes.
He was also required to register with High Wycombe police for seven years.
Between April 13, 2021, and February 14, 2023, in Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire, Baker made indecent photographs including seven moving images of a category A child, one moving and 72 stills of a category B child, and two moving and eight stills of a category C child.
On March 7, 2023, he was found in possession of an extreme pornographic image portraying an act with a live or dead animal.
He pleaded guilty at Wycombe Magistrates' Court on October 9, 2023.
The court also ordered forfeiture and destruction of the exhibit and for Baker to pay a sum of £239 in surcharge and costs.
His offending was said to be so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified, but it was suspended due to his age and mitigation.
