A new 'high quality' cinema chain will arrive in Buckinghamshire this week following an extensive investment project.
Omniplex Cinema Group, an Ireland-based company with 38 pre-existing locations, has announced an imminent expansion into Great Britain, with multiple venues set to open at former Empire Cinema sites over the coming weeks.
A new Omniplex Cinema will open in High Wycombe on Sunday, December 10, in the former Empire Cinema venue on Crest Road after the UK-based independent chain entered administration earlier this year.
The building has been subject to a process of acquisition and renovation by the Omniplex Group which is expected to be replicated at other sites across Britain over the coming 18 months as part of a £22.5 million investment project.

Empire Cinema, which formerly operated at 14 locations across the UK, entered administration in July, with the High Wycombe venue slated for continued trade until administrators could secure a buyer.
Omniplex has also acquired Empire Cinema sites in Birmingham, Ipswich, Sutton and Clydebank, and the chain has committed to securing 150 existing jobs as part of its investment plans.
Paul John Anderson, director of the group, said: “We are thrilled to bring Omniplex Cinemas to Great Britain. Our disciplined approach to investing in our businesses and unwavering drive to operate high-quality cinema locations have proved successful over the years on the island of Ireland and have given us the confidence to venture into new territories.”
