A Buckinghamshire-based care home resident has revealed the secret of living a long life after they recently celebrated their 101st birthday.
Gwen Edwards, based at Buckingham’s Maids Moreton Hall Care Home enjoyed her milestone anniversary on November 7, where she was given balloons, banners, and a special birthday cake.
She also receives regular visits from her daughter, Helen, son, Simon, and granddaughter, Emily.

Speaking on her longevity and the secret to a long and happy life is love: “Love is all you need!”
Ina Almasan, General Manager at Maids Moreton Hall, said: “Gwen is a much-loved resident, and it was wonderful to help her celebrate this impressive milestone.
“Here at Maids Moreton, everything we do is centred around helping residents to live happy and fulfilling lives, which is why we love to mark special occasions – and Gwen’s 101st birthday certainly called for a celebration.
“It was fantastic to help her celebrate this incredible milestone with her family and friends and to raise a glass to her fantastic milestone, cheers to Gwen!”

Interested in gardening and the outdoors, Gwen joined history clubs and the Women’s Institute in her later years.
She enjoys sharing her interests at Maids Moreton Hall with fellow residents and team members through the home’s gardening and history clubs.
