A hotel in Buckinghamshire has been named the best place for a getaway.
The Crown Inn in Amersham was selected one of the best spots for a cosy holiday by Condé Nast Traveller, a magazine covering luxury travel.
Located in the heart of Old Amersham in a Grade II listed building, the hotel rose to fame after Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell spent a night in one of the suites in in the hit film Four Weddings and a Funeral.
The travel magazine selected the best country pubs with cosiest rooms and tasty food, with The Crown Inn making the cut thanks to its rooms, quality of food and handy location within easy access from London.
The hotel made the final list because of its “sharp-as-a-tack rooms” a Tube ride away from London and and rooms with “fresh aesthetic” created by designer Ilse Crawford.
Conde Nast Traveller praised the rooms for their “modern Scandi vibe” and spaciousness, which is enough “for a two-week stay”.
The judges were impressed by the food created using “thoughtfully sourced ingredients,” including Dedham Vale beef.
