A RARE piece of land in Marlow has gone up for sale giving buyers the chance to own their own slice of countryside.
Beech Grove Wood to the western edge of Frieth Road in Marlow is on the market with estate agent Savills for offers in excess of £150,000.
The 3.5 acre site is currently used for various recreational purposes and also includes a number of small temporary buildings.
Richard Maby, head of office at Savills Marlow, said it was the perfect opportunity for someone who wanted to own their own piece of countryside.
“The site has been in use by the current owner as a space for recreation, for educational purposes through visits by local schools for woodland skills training, and as an overnight location for those undertaking Duke of Edinburgh Award exercises,” he said.
“The woodland sits directly off Frieth Road and – although there is a water connection – there is no electricity, sewage or gas.
"It’s an exciting instruction and in my 27 years of selling property I’ve not come across too many like it. Smaller woodlands such as this are rare, often once in a lifetime opportunities – even more so in such a desirable location so close to Marlow.
“I would expect some type of leisure use to continue because – while it’s not necessarily fit for development – it’s the perfect opportunity for a buyer who wants to own an attractive piece of English countryside with a varied habitat.”
Savills is inviting offers for the site until 12 noon on Friday, December 8.
