Christmas was colourful in the 1990s with garish tinsel and brightly coloured fairy lights glistening on trees.
At Christmas, the popular shops were Woolworths and children circled toys they wanted from the Argos catalogue. There was no online shopping and Sunday trading wasn't introduced until 1994.
And whilst many of us had started decorating and lighting the OUTSIDE of our homes, inside we might enjoy a fibre optic Christmas tree!
With the absence of social media, huge gaming technology and streaming services, weird things such as board games, cards and conversations took place, which seems like utter madness.
There is just something that made Christmas more magical in the 90s and here are some photos to prove it.
