A much-loved Thai restaurant in Buckinghamshire has been named the best in the UK at the EuroAsia Awards 2023.
The small UK restaurant chain Sukhothai was founded by Ban Kaewkraikhot in 2002 and has since expanded from its original Chapel Allerton branch to several spots around the UK, including at Number 50 on Great Missenden High Street.
The restaurant takes its name from the old capital of Thailand, Ban's birthplace of Sukhothai which lies just over 240 miles north of Bangkok, and has accumulated many accolades and titles over the last two decades.
The Sukhothai team gained yet another string to their bow on Wednesday night (November 15), when the chain was named Best Thai Restaurant in the UK at the annual EuroAsia Awards in London.
A spokesperson for the Great Missenden restaurant, which also operates a takeaway service from its spot on the High Street, wrote on its social media pages: "We are glad to announce that we have been awarded (the title of) Best Thai Restaurant in the UK.
