A man arrested in connection with a 'rape' of a woman has been released without charge.
Officers were called to Campbell Park, Milton Keynes, on Monday evening (November 13) following a report of a distressing attack.
Police received a call from a distressed woman at 10.25pm, requesting assistance.
Officers then found the woman, who reported she had been a victim of rape.
The victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
We previously reported that a 50-year-old man from Milton Keynes was arrested on suspicion of rape, but cops have since revealed that he has been released without charge.
The investigation is still ongoing and there remains an increased policing presence in the area while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Dominique Muldoon said: “I appreciate that incidents such as this cause concern, but I would like to reassure the public we are thoroughly investigating this incident.
“There will continue to be an increased presence of officers in the area of Campbell Park, and if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to one of them.
“If you have any information, or believe you witnessed any suspicious activity in Campbell Park between 10.15pm and 11pm on Monday evening, please get in touch with Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference 43230511228.”
