THE POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a man suffered life-threatening injuries during an assault.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously hurt in an incident of grievous bodily harm in Milton Keynes.

The incident happened at about 9.30pm on Monday, October 23 in the underpass between Groveway and Newport Road in Wavendon Gate when a man in his thirties was assaulted.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

A 25-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and he remains in custody.

Crime manager for Milton Keynes Detective Chief Inspector James Horseman said: “This was a serious incident that we are investigating thoroughly, with a suspect currently in police custody.

“There is a large scene-watch in place and residents will see an increased police presence in the area while officers and staff carry out enquiries.

“We believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public but I understand people may have concerns and I encourage you to discuss these with any of our uniformed officers.
