The fate of a multi-million-pound film studio in a picturesque Buckinghamshire town will be decided today.
Buckinghamshire Council’s Strategic Sites Committee will meet at 1pm today (October 23) at The Oculus building in Aylesbury to discuss the Marlow Film Studios planning application.
The proposed development would comprise the construction of sound stages, backlots, parking facilities, a wildlife habitat, new public transport routes and more on Greenbelt land near the A404 in Little Marlow.
In a planning officer’s report released ahead of today’s meeting, the application was recommended for refusal on the grounds of potential environmental harm.

At a Parish Meeting held by Marlow Town Council last week, residents gathered to voice their near-unanimous opposition to the project, with one person describing it as a “monstrosity”.
Robert Laycock, CEO of Marlow Film Studios said: “Failing to grasp this unique proposition with its outstanding jobs and training opportunity represents a seismic missed opportunity for the UK economy if this investment is allowed to slip away.”
