NEARLY 100 parcels were stolen in an overnight burglary at Eden Shopping Centre.

Thames Valley Police confirmed they received reports of a burglary between 5pm on Sunday, October 15 and 8am on Monday, October 16.

The force and Eden Shopping Centre have launched an investigation, obtaining and reviewing CCTV footage.

It comes after a customer tried to pick up her John Lewis parcel from the Collect+ collection point on Monday, October 16, only to find the packaging was ripped open.

The High Wycombe customer spoke to the Bucks Free Press about the parcel thefts, fearing the burglars now know her personal details from the invoice in the parcel.

She said: "I had a couple of parcels to collect in High Wycombe from the Inpost box and then I went to the Eden reception to collect my Yodel parcel.

"I went to the reception and got my barcode out and a woman there I've not seen before scanned my barcode and explained how there was something wrong with the scanner."

The customer then left and returned later in the afternoon only to receive a call from Eden.

"He said on the voicemail he wanted to know my last name and what was in the parcel because they had a security breach.

"Next thing when I arrived they reeled out this shopping trolley with ripped up parcels and lots of John Lewis packaging, and my packaging was ripped open, including my invoice and address.

"There were lots of other valuable items like the Veja trainers. Mine was a Lulu Guinness bag but not the £100 ones you see online, a £12 shopping bag."

The customer has been issued a refund by John Lewis.

A spokesperson from Eden said: "We can confirm that we suffered a security breach at our Collect + storage area on Sunday and some packages were stolen as a result.

"We are working with Thames Valley Police and Collect + to ensure customers are inconvenienced as little as possible. If you believe your delivery may have been affected, please contact our Customer Services on 01494 465 936 and they will be able to provide you with a crime reference number.

"We're sorry for any disruption caused as a result of this issue."

Customers who have been impacted have been advised by Collect+ to contact Yodel on 0344 755 0117 or webchat via https://www.yodel.co.uk/contact-yodel or the customer services team of the retailer they purchased goods from.

A spokesman from Thames Valley Police said: "A number of parcels were taken from the click-and-collect station.

"The force is conducting a thorough investigation, including obtaining and reviewing CCTV footage.

"If anyone has any information about the burglary, please contact the force by making a report on our website or by calling 101, quoting investigation reference number 43230465005.
