Members of the public have been asked for their views on a new 5G mast planned for a Buckinghamshire village.

Planning permission is being sought for a 30m lattice mast in a vacant field near an existing mast in Brockhurst Wood, Templewood Lane, Stoke Poges.

The applicant ‘Icon Tower Infrastructure Limited’ wants the mast to include six cabinets, six antennas on a headframe, and two transmission dishes.

The proposal also includes a new base station, which is “required due to the existing mast being unsuitable for the necessary upgrade of equipment”.

If built, the new mast will be able to host 5G technologies – the most advanced generation of mobile networks.

The proposed site is more than 200m away from any nurseries, schools and colleges, according to planning documents.

Supplementary information states that the proposal “will make an improvement to visual amenity in the area by condensing the potential number of telecommunications sites to one single mast”.

Those wishing to comment on the plans have until October 23, according to the statutory 21-day period after a notice was issued by Buckinghamshire Council.
