THE POLICE are investigating a fire after a car was set alight on a residential road. 

The emergency services attended after reports of a car fire on Hillside Close in Chalfont St Peter in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, October 1.

The firefighters rushed to the scene after multiple calls from concerned residents, but the car was in flames when they arrived and it was completely damaged as a result. 

Now Thames Valley Police have confirmed they are investigating the scary incident as arson.

A spokesperson from the force said: “Thames Valley Police received a report of an arson in Hillside Close, Chalfont St Peter, at around 3am on Sunday (1/10).

“Officers are investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to call 101 or make a report online quoting reference 43230440047.

The latest arson probe comes after a string of concerning incidents in Chalfont St Peter. 

In April, a car was set on fire whilst parked at the Greyhound Inn's car park, damaging the nearby vehicles and the pub. 

A motorbike burnt down on Layters Close on May 2 at about 5.30am, while a new BMW was set alight on Outfield Road in May. 

A resident's mum's car burnt down on September 9 after a shadowy figure was captured on CCTV setting off a small explosive underneath the parked vehicle.
