An affectionate dog born at a rescue centre has spent close to 650 heart-rending days there without securing a loving home.
Born around Christmas of 2021 in relation to an RSPCA cruelty case, Zen was relocated to RSPCA Blackberry Farm in Aylesbury in March 2022.
Unfortunately, his adoption was delayed until November 2022 due to the legal proceedings concerning his case.
The charismatic pooch has, as a result, spent his entire life in the kennels without experiencing the comfort of a home.
Despite significant publicity efforts on social media, highlighting his friendly and loveable nature, Blackberry Farm has yet failed to find Zen a perfect forever home.
Julie Allen, centre manager, said: "Poor Zen - we can’t understand why such a beautiful happy little boy has not found his perfect home yet.
“It breaks our hearts when we see him in our kennels and the days and weeks go by but he still gets overlooked.
“We have highlighted him lots of times on our Facebook pages - but to no avail - but we know that somewhere out there there will be a family who would be the perfect fit for Zen.
“While we all love him and he’s such a pleasure to be around - him going off to his perfect new home is the ending we all want for him.
“We are urging people to consider adopting Zen or if not please share his story far and wide so that we can help find his new family.”
Zen is described as an energetic canine, with an enduring need for mental stimulation despite his loving nature.
He enjoys cuddles and is often found sprawled on his back, enjoying his downtime.
Potential adopters will need to have prior experience with large breeds and feel confident around strong, playful dogs!
For those interested in offering Zen his very own forever home, applications can be sent to blackberryfarm@rspca.org.uk.
