A 43-year-old man has been jailed for 12 years after raping and sexually assaulting a woman.

Marcus Taylor, 43, of Lingfield Close, High Wycombe, was sentenced to a 12-year imprisonment plus a further six years on licence at a hearing at Amersham Crown Court today (September 29).

He was convicted by a jury in June. He was found guilty by majority jury on one count each of rape, sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault.

He was found not guilty of a count of non-fatal strangulation.

The crimes happened in 2023 after Taylor went to the home of a woman in Buckinghamshire.

While in her home, he forced himself upon the victim, raping her and sexually assaulting her.

He then left and the police were alerted. He was arrested on the same day.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Nathan Devlin said: “I am pleased that Taylor will spend a significant time in prison.

“He has never shown any remorse for his despicable actions, which profoundly affected the victim in this case.

“I would like to pay tribute to the victim and thank them for supporting our investigation which has now led to the rightful jailing of Taylor.

“I hope this conviction shows we are committed to tackling serious sexual offences and violence against women and girls, and we will support victims and bring offenders before the courts to face justice.
