Lights have been installed in a Buckinghamshire underpass after years of complaints suggesting that the area was unsafe without them.

The Great Western Street venue in the centre of Aylesbury, which is where the town’s bus station is located, saw the lights get fitted in at the start of the month, much to the delight of residents and commuters.

It’s now finally been revitalised with a full LED upgrade, as all the lamps have been replaced with low-energy but brighter lights.

One resident said: “I used to avoid that part of town and make a conscious effort to walk the long but safer way around.

"In the winter months when the nights draw in sooner, it was an especially unsafe route to walk or wait for a bus.
