Two men have been handed down prison sentences in High Wycombe after £30,000 worth of drugs were found on a kitchen worktop.
Cameron Kemp, also known as Ayub El-Omari, aged 25, and 19-year-old Kyree McKenzie, both without a permanent address, were given terms of four years and three months and two years and one month respectively at Aylesbury Crown Court.
They had previously pled guilty to two counts each of possession with intent to supply controlled Class A drugs, specifically cocaine and heroin, at Amersham Crown Court in mid-May.
The arrests of the duo came on October 4 of last year.
Officers, acting on a warrant under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, successfully conducted a raid at a High Wycombe property, only for Kemp to attempt an escape by climbing out the kitchen window, while associate McKenzie fled for the back garden.
They were quickly apprehended by the officers, and a significant quantity of drugs valued at £30,000 were found on the kitchen worktop, evidently prepared for sale.
The next day, both Kemp and McKenzie were formally charged.
Following their conviction, PC Talan O’Neill from the South Buckinghamshire Stronghold team, who was integral in the investigation, expressed that the two men had been running a substantial drugs operation, dealing to vulnerable members within the community throughout Oxfordshire.
O’Neill reassured the public that efforts to investigate and bring drug-dealers before the courts for sentencing would persist.
He urged public members to play their part in removing drug dealers by reporting information so as to build intelligence, which can be reported to the force's website or by calling 101. Information can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
