Thames Water has apologised for 'minor' roadworks that caused 'chaos and disruption' in a Bucks town.
A Marlow resident who asked not to be identified told the Free Press on Wednesday, September 13 that their local High Street had been "gridlock traffic for three days" while Thames Water roadworks took place.
They said: "Thames Water has set up a three-way traffic light system in the heart of Marlow to store six pavement bricks on the road.
"The pavement outside VIP Barbers has had minor work but caused chaos to the road system with bricks left on the road and barriers put around the said bricks.
"The queues of cars idling in the High Street go back to the bridge and out of Marlow town centre. The loss of trade to the High Street and the trend of Marlow as a place that's not easy to get into continues!"
Marlow Town Council also released a statement on Wednesday, expressing "deep concern" about the congestion in the area, which a spokesperson said was causing "huge disruption and upset" for residents.

They added: "We are lobbying Buckinghamshire Council at officer and Member level, in the strongest terms possible, requesting that something is done immediately to ease the situation."
A spokesperson for Thames Water has now apologised to those impacted by the roadworks.
They said: "We are sorry for any disruption caused on Marlow High Street on Wednesday, September 13.
"Our engineers were installing a new piece of water pipework which required temporary three-way traffic lights to be put in place.
"The work was completed on Wednesday and the traffic lights have been taken down."
