A weather warning has been issued in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
The Met Office warned of potential disruption and flooding due to heavy showers and thunderstorms.
The yellow warning for thunderstorms is in place from 12noon to 8pm on Tuesday September 12.
What to expect when the yellow warning is in place
Drivers should look out for spray and sudden flooding that could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
There is a small chance some communities could become cut off by flooded roads.
The forecaster warned of a “slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.”
In areas with flooding or lightning strikes, some trains and bus services could face delays and cancellations.

There is also a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly and floodwater, lightning strikes or strong winds could damage some buildings.
Although many places are likely to miss the heavy showers and thunderstorms, some areas may see 20-30 mm of rain in less than an hour while some could catch between 40-50 mm of rainfall within two hours, leading to some localised flooding, the Met Office said.
Lighting and hail may bring additional hazards.
The showers and thunderstorms are expected to slowly die out during the evening.
