A murder investigation has been launched in High Wycombe following the discovery of a man’s body.
At around 10.05pm on Tuesday, September 5, the emergency services were called to Bowden Lane within the town after a person was found with ‘significant injuries.’
It was later revealed that the man was dead at the scene.
Head of Major Crime, Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown said: “Sadly, a man has died in this incident and we have commenced a murder investigation.
“At this very early stage of the investigation, a cause of death is not known.
“We have a very large public scene watch in place while our investigation commences, and I appreciate that this will cause disruption in the local community.
“I know that incidents such as this will cause concern, but we have a number of officers at the scene, so please don’t hesitate to talk to them to address your concerns.
“At present, the identity of the deceased man is not known, and efforts are underway to find and notify his next of kin.
“I would appeal to anybody who was in the area of Bowden Lane last night who has any information or witnessed anything suspicious to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area to check their dash-cams and contact us if it has captured anything that may assist the investigation.
“You can contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43230398634 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
