A pub in Bucks that closed down two years ago has reopened under new ownership - to a 'fantastic' welcome.

The Beech Tree pub on Amersham Road in Hazlemere, High Wycombe, re-opened last month two years after shutting its doors under previous ownership.

The new owners announced the pub's return with a bang on August Bank Holiday weekend, hosting a grand re-opening event with a BBQ in the beer garden, live music, a magician and even a bouncy castle.

Sharing footage of the event on The Beech Tree's Facebook page, a spokesperson described it as "fantastic."

"It was a pleasure for us to meet so many lovely people over the weekend and we are pretty sure that the town now knows we are back."

They added that the popularity of the weekend celebration had left staff so exhausted that the pub remained closed on Tuesday, August 29, while the "skeleton staffing team" were given a "much-needed rest".
