A HOODED man grabbed a woman in her 30s and put his hand over her mouth in a terrifying attack.
Police are investigating the incident which happened between 6.10pm and 6.15pm on Thursday, August 24.
The victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking from the train station in Great Missenden towards Prestwood via a footpath.
The footpath starts off of Trafford Lane, Great Missenden, and goes through a field and wooded area near the A4128, eventually connecting to Green Lane, Prestwood.
Whilst walking along the footpath, a man approached her, attempted to grab her and put his hand over her mouth.
The victim managed to free herself and the offender ran in the direction of the A4128.
The offender is described as a white man, in his late twenties to mid-thirties, approximately 5ft 7ins tall and average build.
He had shoulder-length, light brown and grey hair with a long beard which was tied near the bottom.
He was wearing a horizontally striped t-shirt and carrying a dark brown shoulder bag.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Christopher Birtles said: “This is a concerning incident but we are conducting a thorough investigation. Local residents may have seen an increase in police presence in the area and this will continue whilst we investigate.
“We are asking for the public’s assistance and would ask anyone with information or who recognises the description above to get in touch.
