An entire street was plunged into darkness after a power cut caused by a cannabis farm.
The illegal farm on Vanguard Close in High Wycombe was revealed after the power company SSE came to inspect a fault on August 24.
A resident on the leafy residential road, who asked not to be named, said the SSE first discovered “an illegal connection to the power grid” during an investigation of the fault.
“They called the police, who then discovered the address to be a cannabis farm. While SSE were attempting to fix the issue on the street, a power cut occurred.”
The resident was alerted to the police incident on the dead-end road after returning home and seeing three police cars outside, which stayed there all evening and night, they said.

“There was a police car parked on the drive all night.
“I’m not surprised because there’s a lot of cannabis in High Wycombe,” they said.
Despite the discovery, they said they “always feel safe here, it’s a cul-de-sac so there’s not many people coming or going.”
The neighbour found out about the cannabis farm after calling the SSE customer service phone line, they said.
Electricity was finally restored at 5am on Friday (August 25) after one failed attempt earlier in the morning, they said.
SSE declined to comment on the incident “as this is a police enquiry,” the company said.
The police spokesperson said: "Thames Valley Police was called to a property in Vanguard Close, High Wycombe, on Wednesday following the discovery of a number of cannabis plants at the location.
"The force is investigating the incident and all of the plants have been removed.
"No arrests have been made.
"Anybody with any information relating to this incident is urged to contact the force on 101, quoting reference 43230379233."
