SEVERAL arrests, jail sentences and court hearings have taken place this week across Buckinghamshire.

From fraudsters to a man pleading guilty to manslaughter, here is the Buckinghamshire crime round-up for this week:

A WOMAN has avoided jail after being charged with fraud and giving unregulated immigration advice.  

Johanna Loader, 35, of Oberon Way, Oxley Park, pleaded guilty to four counts of providing unregulated immigration advice and services and three of fraud, after an investigation by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).

She was handed a 12-month custodial sentence suspended for two years at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, August 7.

FOUR people have been charged after attempting to disrupt the building of the new HS2 line in Wendover.

HS2 is a planned high-speed rail line being built from London to the North-West, with the hopes of connecting Scotland, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

It is the largest infrastructure project in Europe and is currently under construction with completion expected between 2029 and 2033.

Four people were arrested for attempting to disrupt the construction of the viaduct.

George Keeler 23, Daniel Hooper, 50, William Harewood, 32, and Sacha James, 22, were all charged with one count of obstructing/disrupting a person engaged in a lawful activity.

A JAIL sentence has been handed to a young man who smashed his ex-girlfriend’s car with a sledgehammer after assaulting her in Aylesbury.

Cameron Samuel, 22, was jailed for 12 months after a sentencing hearing on Wednesday (August 16) at Reading Crown Court for one count each of possession of an offensive weapon, common assault, using threatening words, and criminal damage.

He was arrested and charged after an incident on May 15 when he assaulted his ex-partner, who we have decided to not name, over a £40 drug debt.

A MAN has denied sending offensive emails, Twitter messages and YouTube videos in Princes Risborough.

Andrew Cooper, 58, is due to stand trial at High Wycombe Magistrates Court on September 1 after pleading not guilty to three counts of harassment without violence.

He is accused of harassing Lucy Brown between October 23, 2020 and October 9, 2022, by sending numerous offensive emails and Twitter messages.

It is alleged he also harassed Charles Brown between November 1, 2020 and October 9, 2022 by sending him numerous offensive emails.

A MAN has admitted to manslaughter in Milton Keynes.

Michael Sargeant, 77, of Bradwell Road, Loughton, pleaded guilty on Thursday (August 17) at Luton Crown Court to one count of manslaughter by diminished responsibility, which was accepted by the prosecution.

The conviction relates to the death of Christine Sargeant, who sadly died aged 73.
