A building society has slashed its high street branch opening hours in Buckinghamshire.
Nationwide Building Society has cut down its Beaconsfield branch opening hours to three days a week.
The world’s largest building society with more than 16 million members said the new hours allow staff to help customers over the phone.
A spokesperson for Nationwide said in a statement: “We are committed to our Beaconsfield branch and it will remain open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday’s between 9-4.30pm.

"We recently renewed our branch promise confirming we will not leave any town or city in which we are based until at least 2026.
“While on Wednesday and Friday’s it will close, this will enable our branch colleagues to help members on the phone as well in person, so we are able to serve more people more quickly and keep branches on the high street.”
Despite the pledge to not exit towns yet, some customers in Beaconsfield took to social media to express their concern that Nationwide was planning to leave the town.
