Conducted by the holiday property booking company, Independent Cottages, Milton Keynes is currently bottom of their table in terms of guidebooks being published about the north Bucks city.
According to their study, ZERO guidebooks have been published about the city.
Top of the list was London with just over 1,600 guidebooks whilst Edinburgh and Cambridge were second and third respectively.

However, basic online searches have revealed that there are history books based on the new town’s past and present.
The most notable book was written by Mark Colthorpe called ‘MK: Milton Keynes, the Guide.’
Published in June 2010, the information focuses on potted history, art, culture, shopping, sport, leisure and places to eat.

A spokesman for Independent Cottages said: “ We may live in an increasingly digital world, with the likes of Tripadvisor, Tiktok and Instagram taking the travel world by storm, but it appears that people are still keen to stick to the basics when it comes to recommendations.
“Because, according to a research study, it is the humble travel guidebook that is still rated as the most influential source of information by travellers.”
