The plans for a new Wetherspoon in Bucks have been put under doubt after ‘silence’ from the bar operator.
Last year, JD Wetherspoons applied to convert the former Prezzo Italian restaurant on Station Road in Beaconsfield New Town into a new bar and restaurant with a terrace.
Since the restaurant chain was granted conditional permission in July last year, the company has been tight-lipped about the plans, which it was planning to spend £2 million on.

Now rumours are circulating on social media, claiming the plans have been put on hold and the building may be sold.
Beaconsfield mayor Jackson Ng told the Free Press: “Whilst the proposed development of Wetherspoons in New Town received mixed feedback from residents, it would be helpful if Wetherspoons made its intention on the site public as soon as possible so that such a significant site in our town can be properly utilised for the benefit of residents, if necessary by others.”
JD Wetherspoons declined to comment at present.
