HIGH Wycombe town centre currently has seven empty shop units, one of which is the old House of Fraser shop which Primark will be moving into shortly.
Confirmed in May, Primark will be moving into the ground floor of the central unit as part of Buckinghamshire Council’s three-part town centre regeneration.
This means they will move out of the largely empty Chiltern centre which is intended to be transformed into predominantly residential space.
Following Wilko’s announcement last week, the Chiltern centre could see two retail giants departing in a short space of time, meaning that only a few units will remain occupied including the Air Raid Shelter Café and Tea Room and Bobkins Bazaar which is attached to Wycombe Food Hub.
Wilko’s departure is not yet confirmed and Primark’s moving date has not yet been announced but it is understood to happening soon.
Despite the numerous empty units across the town centre, three shops have opened in the Eden Centre recently and there are a few more coming in the town centre.
When the Free Press visited the town centre on Friday, August 4, we spotted seven empty units in the Eden centre and Chilterns Shopping Centre.
What shops would you like to see open in these units?
