The Wilko branch in High Wycombe is slowly starting to empty out following the news of the company’s administration.
Up to 12,000 jobs could be lost across the country in the following months as the national retailer attempts to find a financial solution.
A banner on its website, states that its home delivery and click-and-collect services are currently unavailable, but customers can still check stock in their local store before visiting.

The retailer had filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators, providing a brief period of protection from creditors in the hopes of finding a buyer or securing investment.
And images from the Wycombe outlet in the Chilterns Shopping Centre show the shelves slowly starting to empty.
Most notably, cold canned drinks in the fridge, pick-n-mix sweets, snacks such as chocolates and crisps, make-up and toiletries were all in low supply.
Other goods including wool, bed covers, DIY tools and outdoor items such as bicycle tyres and pumps were also very low in stock.

An excerpt from their open letter reads: “I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of the directors and the Wilkinson family to thank all our customers, suppliers, partners and our hardworking team members across our stores, logistics and support centre who remained loyal to Wilko.
“We’ve all fought hard to keep this incredible business intact but must concede that time has run out, and now we must do what’s best to preserve as many jobs as possible, for as long as is possible, by working with our appointed administrators.

“It’s been an honour to have worked alongside you all as we fought to realise and to maximise the significant opportunities that existed to re-establish a profitable Wilko.”
