SEVERAL incidents have taken place across Buckinghamshire this week, from people being jailed to cannabis farms being discovered.

Here are some of the crime-related stories covered this week:

A MAN has been jailed after being caught with a knuckleduster, knife and cocaine in Aylesbury.

Simon Pettitt, 41, of Avenue Road, Winslow, was caught on Sunday, July 30 on Grenville Road. He was stopped by officers just before 5.45pm and was detained for a stop and search.

He was arrested and taken into custody, where, through Operation Deter principles, he was charged to appear before court the following day.

Pettitt pleaded guilty to a count each of possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed article and possession of a controlled drug of class A, namely cocaine, in a hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court last Monday (July 31).

A FIRE at a property in High Wycombe revealed a secret cannabis farm.

The incident happened on July 5 this year when a fire broke out at a building in Totteridge Road, High Wycombe.

After the fire was dealt with, police were then able to discover a ‘large quantity’ of cannabis plants which were consequently seized.

A MAN from Milton Keynes has been convicted of child sex offences.

On Tuesday (August 1), a jury unanimously found Roy Parsons, 73, of Brooke Close, Bletchley, guilty of eight counts of sexual activity with a child under 16 at Amersham Crown Court.

He was released on bail and is due to be sentenced at the same court on September 8.

Parsons sexually assaulted the victim, a young girl who cannot be named for legal reasons, under and over her clothing on numerous occasions between November 2020 and January 2021.

A WOMAN stabbed herself in the stomach in attempts to stop her partner abusing her, a court has heard.

Craig Gunwick, 36, has been jailed for 36 months for two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after attacking his ex-partner in Aylesbury earlier this year.

The pair had been in a relationship for about three years before the incidents happened in February and March.

Recorder David Whittaker sentenced Gunwick at Reading Crown Court on Thursday (August 10).
