An opening date for a highly anticipated play area in a popular Bucks park has been confirmed by the local council.
Plans for a "bigger and better" play area in Higginson Park, Marlow were first unveiled back in June when Buckinghamshire Council released designs of an "inclusive" adventure playground to replace the former equipment after it was subjected to "heavy wear".
The playground's opening date was initially slated for Monday, July 24, but a representative for the council has now confirmed that subject to final checks, it will open to the public at 1pm on Wednesday, August 2.
The design of the area was shaped following consultations with local stakeholders and includes such "inclusive" equipment as a wheelchair-accessible roundabout, swing seats and a large multi-play ship unit.

Clive Harriss, cabinet member for culture and leisure at Buckinghamshire Council, acknowledged that the area was an "extremely popular" spot for local families and said the council was committed to providing an "engaging and secure environment for children of all ages to explore, learn and have fun".
